Business climate in Russia – monthly analytical report
Project: design and layout of an analytical electronic report
Customer: international analytical center EAST
Task: to structure a large volume of economic, regulatory, and industry analytics, ensuring convenience of screen reading and navigation for a professional audience
Solution: a modular layout system and visual accents were developed, adapted for regular analytical publications and work with texts, graphics, and data
To form an analytical electronic report as a professional working tool for managerial, investment, and expert audiences. The material had to be perceived not as a review publication, but as a regular analytical product, suitable for systemic reading, citation, and use in decision-making.
To structure a large volume of heterogeneous content — macroeconomic analytics, regulatory changes, industry reviews, scenarios, and conclusions — into a logical and transparent system. It was important to ensure quick access to key theses without losing depth and analytical accuracy.
Ensure a high level of readability when working with long texts and complex data. The report had to be adapted for screen reading, with clear navigation, a sustainable hierarchy of headings and a clear rhythm of information delivery.
Create a visual format that meets international standards for analytical and consulting reports. The design should not distract or interpret the data, its task is to enhance trust in the content, emphasize the expert status of the publication and support regular issue of the report without visual overload.
Work on the project began with an analysis of the structure of the original analytical material and the logic of its consumption by the target audience. The report was considered as a regular professional product, so at the first stage, the basic architecture of the publication was determined, which can be scaled from issue to issue without changing the principles of navigation and visual language.
Next, a modular layout system was developed, allowing to work with long text blocks, graphs, tables and key theses. The hierarchy of headings and semantic levels was also worked out separately, so that the reader could quickly navigate the material, switch between sections and return to the necessary fragments.
Particular attention was paid to typography and rhythm of strips. Font combinations and setting parameters were selected that provide comfortable screen reading of analytical texts of large volume. Visual accents and color were used strictly functionally - for navigation, highlighting blocks and working with data, without decorative load.
In the final stage, the integration of graphs and infographics into the overall design was built. Data was considered as an equal part of the narrative, so the visualization of indicators and analytical conclusions was subject to the general logic of the publication and supported the integrity of the material perception.
As a result, a comprehensive electronic analytical report was formed, perceived as a professional working tool, rather than a review publication. The material is read consistently, allows you to quickly navigate the structure and effectively work with large arrays of economic and regulatory information.
The report provides convenience of screen reading with a large amount of text and data, supports analytical perception and simplifies navigation between sections, scenarios and key findings. Graphs and infographics are organically embedded in the narrative and enhance the understanding of process dynamics.
The format proved to be sustainable for regular issue, maintaining a single visual and structural standard from issue to issue. This allows scaling the publication without loss of quality and recognizability.
Visually and content-wise, the project strengthened the positioning of the analytical center as a source of systemic, balanced and professional expertise in the field of economic and investment analysis.
