A corporate style as a long-term visual identity system Nuclear Engineering Company | AKME-Engineering

Project: corporate style and visual identity system
Customer: AKME Engineering
Task: To create a corporate style and regulated visual identity system for a high-tech engineering company working in the nuclear industry and at the intersection of state, science, and industry. It was necessary to create a sustainable brand that conveys reliability, technological advancement, and responsibility, taking into account the long-term horizon of use. The identity should work correctly in a business, scientific, and public environment, be universal for corporate documentation, presentation and printing materials, navigation, souvenir products, and communications with partners and government agencies.
Solution: A strict, systematic visual identity was developed, focused on long-term operation and high regulation. The visual language is based on clearly defined logo proportions, a limited color palette, and neutral typography, excluding dependence on short-term visual trends. The system was formalized in the form of a full-fledged corporate brand book and implemented in all key media. The corporate style has been used by the company for 17 years, confirming the sustainability and correctness of the chosen design solution.

Task

The task was to develop a corporate style and visual identity system for a high-tech engineering company in the nuclear industry, focused on long-term work in a state, scientific and industrial cooperation environment.

From the very beginning, the project was considered not as a one-time visual development, but as a long-lived corporate system, capable of functioning for many years without the need for regular redesign. The identity had to convey reliability, technology, and a high level of responsibility, be neutral to short-term visual trends, and resistant to changes in the external context.

Particular attention was paid to strict regulation: the visual system had to work equally correctly in business documentation, presentations, printing, navigation, souvenir products, and communications with government agencies and international partners. An important condition was the creation of clear rules for use, excluding visual distortions when scaling and transmitting the system within the company.

The actual result — the use of the developed corporate style for many years — was initially laid down as a target benchmark: to create not a "relevant at launch" design, but a sustainable visual infrastructure capable of working in a critically responsible industry for a long distance.

Result

As a result of the work, a sign and logo of AKME Engineering were created, which became the basis of the company's long-lived visual identity and are used in corporate communications for 17 years.

The logo is formed as a multi-layered symbol, combining technology and organicity. The central image is an unfolding form, interpreting energy as a manageable, structured process. Due to the overlap and rhythm of elements, the sign visually conveys the idea of a complex engineering system, in which sustainability is achieved not by rigidity, but by balance.

The color scheme is based on a combination of green and blue-green shades, which allows to simultaneously convey environmental responsibility, safety, and high-tech character of the company's activities.

The logo works equally confidently in color, monochrome, and reverse execution, maintaining readability and character in different environments.

The sign was initially designed as a scalable element of the system: it is correctly applied in printing, presentations, navigation, souvenir products, and digital environment, without losing integrity and visual weight. The fact of its continuous use for 17 years confirms the sustainability of the chosen image and the correctness of the laid-down principles — the logo has not become conceptually outdated and has not required replacement during the development of the company.

corporate style

The corporate style of AKME Engineering was formed as a holistic, regulated system of visual identity, focused on long-term operation in a high-tech and critically responsible industry. The final style was initially designed not as an image shell, but as a working infrastructure for corporate communications.

The visual system is built around the idea of managed energy. This is reflected in the key graphic image — a multi-layered symbol, where intersecting and diverging forms create a sense of a controlled process, balance, and internal sustainability. This approach allowed us to move away from aggressive or "technocratic" metaphors, emphasizing safety, environmental friendliness, and engineering accuracy.

The color palette is based on a combination of green and blue-green shades. It consistently conveys environmental responsibility, technological purity, and reliability, which is fundamentally important for the nuclear industry. The color is used not decoratively, but systemically — with clearly fixed proportions and application rules, ensuring the stability of the visual image over many years.

The typography is neutral and functional, without stylistic excesses. It provides high readability in business documentation, presentations, and information materials, without drawing attention to the form and not conflicting with the graphic sign. This enhances the feeling of rationality and professionalism.

The corporate style was detailed and recorded in a full-fledged brand book, including the rules for using the logo, color combinations, typography, graphic elements, and principles for working with images. The system was implemented in all key media: corporate documentation, presentation materials, navigation, souvenir products, and elements of external communications.

The main result is stability.

The corporate style has been used by the company for 17 years, without conceptual revision and loss of relevance. This confirms that the chosen visual language was not tied to fashion or trends, but was built as a long-lasting system, capable of working in a complex organizational and technological environment.
